Often in the music industry we become so adapted to our daily routines that we forget what it is like to simply be a fan of music. Owning even the smallest business in the industry requires a 7 day a week schedule just to stay relevant. In fact; personally I am starting to come to the conclusion that the smaller the company; the harder one works to get anywhere period. Who has time for anything but business conversation? With that being said I as I surf the web and delve in and out of various social networks and other resources; I see a lot of opinion. Everyone one is entitled to a opinion; but if you are going to be a loose cannon, be responsible with it. Lately I have been seeing the word “Groupie” being tossed around a lot more LOOSELY than normal by professionals. One thing is for certain, I just can’t understand the MATHEMATICS of people who are supposed to be trained professionals(ieg.. managers, publicists, promoters, artist representatives..whateva)  in the music industry participating in any form of “Groupie” bashing. Groupies are the biggest fans.. and don’t fans buy the records & spend the $$ for the music? Yeah the MATHEMATICS don’t add up to me there buddy. If anything you should love that you are working with someone big enough to have groupies and make them your fans too. Seems to me groupie bashing is just another form of hater syndrome or a sign you ain’t makin enough $$$.. because if you was, YOU WOULD LOVE YOUR ARTISTS GROUPIES. Not only do your artists GROUPIES by the records but they are the best damn form of free promotion there is. Next time you hate on a fan and call them a “groupie” remember; they are the reason your artist is getting paid. Better yet.. here’s another thought; If your artist has great music but has zero buzz and DON’T have a ton of groupies; some one in the PR department should be getting FIRED or working a whole hell of a lot harder. One FACT that will never change is without the fans; there is no music. That’s just my opinion though; I’m not here to judge and  the topic is open for discussion please feel free to share your opinion in the comment section below.

  • DOWNLOAD YUNG BLU FT. MOE Z M.D. – KEEP YA HEAD UP REMIX

I had the opportunity to meet and see 15 year old Latino rap phenomenon “Yung Blu” perform live while attending one of promoter Frank Nitty’s networking parties in Lake Elsinore. For two weeks prior to the event I listened to Frank Nitty telling me how astonishing this kid was and that he is the “Mexican 2Pac”; after listening to some of his music that was sent to me, I just had to see the full package that this artist had to offer.  I’ve consistently heard 3 young artists names buzzing in the east over the past 2 quarters Willow Smith, Diggy Simmons and Astro. What I haven’t heard in ages is any young talent coming out of the West with mainstream worthy material; but I was certainly ready to find some. I didn’t have to look much further; Frank Nitty was telling the truth, this 15 year old is phenomenal.

Extremely beyond his years with his lyrical content Yung Blu has a stage presence that packs a punch so powerful that will give grown seasoned artist a run for their money on the mic. I’m not the only hard sell made believer; West Coast legendary producer Moe Z M.D. who is known for his hit production work with 2Pac has blessed the world with his great talents once again. The WestCoast vet came with it when he cooked up the “Keep Ya Head Up”  remix ft. Yung Blu. Simply genius and a perfect fit.

I remember thinking to myself before seeing Yung Blu perform; “Frank’s trying to sell this kid as  the next 2 Pac; he better be the best fucking thing since sliced bread”.  I ended up making a Yung Blu sammich with that sliced bread comment and eating every single word that came out my mouth. It’s no wonder the “Labels are coming after him left and right” as Frank told me; the kid indeed has all the elements it takes to be the next best thing since Tupac Shakur. I don’t believe I have ever seen a young talent coming out of California that could even hold a candle to what Yung Blu has to offer. What I didn’t find with this 15 year old phenomenon is the every day kiddie bubblegum bullshit that that pumps out our radios over and over each day. Yung Blu’s lyrical content is so shocking and motivational to the point that it is for sure going to touch the emotions of every youth of our generation. I’m not quite sure that saying he is the “Future of California” is a big enough statement to compliment this young artists talent; but it is surely a great place to start.

You can look forward to my upcoming audio interview with Yung Blu to be published but in the mean time take a listen and see for your self what all the buzz is about.

ChilltownTV Cartoon Character Gets Radio Spot
“Lele” New Voice of KRYC Rhythm 105.9fm’s 60 Second Wrap-up

NEW YORK, NY April 10, 2013

Lele, a cartoon character in hip-hop oriented underground hit animated web comedy Chilltown and the star of her own ChilltownTV spin-off web series, Lele’s Ratchet Advice Show, has been tapped to do the 60 Second Wrap-Up, Thursdays at 4pm PST on Yuba City, California hip-hop radio station KRYC Rhythm 105.9fm starting April 11, 2013. This might be the first time a cartoon character has her own radio segment.

Lele, known for her wildly comedic take no prisoners stance towards the worst elements of dating and pop culture in her series, has been gaining heat. She’ll also be gracing the cover of hip-hop magazine HNS later this month. ABCNews/Univision just named Chilltown a “Web Series That Should Be On Your Radar” and Tubefilter called it a “Show to Watch.” The weekly 60 Second Wrap-Up is part of KRYC’s Business Report hosted by Gigi Capone. Lele will tackle gossip and entertainment news in her own unique comedy style, all in 60 seconds.

Both Chilltown, which stars Chappelle’s Show alums Wil Sylvince and Dante Nero, and Lele’s Ratchet Advice Show are the brainchild of writer/self-taught animator Leesa Dean. Dean writes and animates both series for the ChilltownTV YouTube channel. She also voices Lele. “Gigi is a Chilltown fan and we’ve been twitter friends,” Dean said. “When she asked if Lele would do the 60 Second Wrap-Up, I jumped at the chance. I already listen to Gigi’s show and love it. This is gonna be a lot of fun!” Dean will write and voice the weekly segments which will air on dial and stream online at http://www.rhythm1059fm.com.

Glacé Entertainment Public Relations™ & Chief Celebrity Publicist Toni Embry Reported Today That Universal Republic Records Will Release A New Amy Winehouse Album. 2 Exclusive Tracks Are Available For DL In The Body Of This Release

Nov 04, 2011 – Glacé Entertainment Public Relations™ & Chief Celebrity Publicist Toni Embry Reported Today That Universal Republic Records Will Release A New Amy Winehouse Album Entitled, “Lioness:Hidden Treasures”. 2 Exclusive Tracks Are Available For DownLoad In This Press Release (see below). http://www.GlacePR.com

“I was elated to hear the news that Universal Republic Records is releasing a third Amy Winehouse Album. She was such an amazing and illustrious talent and allowing her fans and the world to hear these tracks is the greatest tribute to her. I am also grateful to Salaam Remi, who was a producer very close to Amy, and Mark Ronson for compiling this collection and sharing it with the world” – Chief Celebrity Publicist Toni Embry – Glacé Entertainment Public Relations™

Amy Winehouse – Album “Lioness Hidden Treasures”

Following her tragic passing on July 23, 2011, some of the producers and musicians who worked closely with 5x Grammy Award winning artist Amy Winehouse, among them Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson, spent time listening over the many recordings that Amy had made, before, during, and after the release of albums “Frank” and “Back To Black”. It was said by all who worked with Amy that she never sang or played a song the sme way twice. It quickly became apparent to both Salaam and Mark that they had a collection of songs that deserved to be heard, a collection of songs that were a fitting testament to Amy the artist and, as importantly, Amy their friend.

The album, “Lioness: Hidden Treasures”, the third album from Amy Winehouse, without question one of the most talented, original, and best loved artists to emerge in popular music for decades, will be released in the United States on December 6th through Universal Republic Records. The 12 track collection features previously unreleased tracks, alternate versions of existing classics as well as a couple of brand new Amy compositions, and has been compiled by long-time musical partners Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson in close association with Amy’s family, management, and UK record label Island Records.

“Lioness: Hidden Treasures” proves a fitting tribute to the artist, the talent, and the woman, and serves as a reminder of Amy’s extraordinary powers as a songwriter, a singer, and an interpreter of classics.

The album drops December 6th, 2011, in the U.S., but Glacé Entertainment Public Relations™ & Chief Celebrity Publicist Toni Embry have 2 of the tracks exclusively available for you, to preview and download, FREE & LEGALLY.

The first rack is a Reggae Version of “Our Day Will Come” which is a reggae re-working of the classic 60′s doo-wop song produced by Salaam Remi. It was recorded in May of 2002.

The second track is “Like Smoke” featuring Nas. Amy and Nas became really good friends after Amy name checked the New York rapper on her “Back To Black” Album in the song “Me & Mr. Jones”. “Like Smoke” is finally Amy doing a song with one of her favorite artists. It was produced by Salaam Remi and was recorded in May of 2008.
